House of Carnival

During the concept dialogue of the carnival actors in the summer and autumn of 2015, it was decided: "The Karneval der Kulturen needs an independent location centrally located near the event site, where it can be present throughout the year. This house has offices and meeting rooms, the Mascamp with workshops and rehearsal rooms, the archive, sufficient storage facilities and can also act as a cultural and meeting center to enable the exchange with each other and with all parts of the population or internationally throughout the year. Here the KdK office should be located, the advisory board and the plenum should be able to meet here. In view of the ongoing preparation of the Karneval der Kulturen in 2016, the premises should be available at short notice and in the long term."

In the situation of scarce inner-city areas on the one hand and an offer of the GSG Berlin for a partial sponsorship of large areas in the econopark Wolfener Straße on the other hand, the Advisory Board has decided to give the House of the Carnival in Marzahn a chance, although it is not "inner-city". The advantages speak for themselves: Since March 2016, it has been possible to rehearse, build, talk and store under one roof. 

Since 2023 the carnival office is back in the ring in Kreuzberg at Piranha Arts in Kreuzberg.
